Chakra Meditation

One of the types of meditation used by a lot of people is the chakra meditation. Chakra is derived from a Sanskrit word, which means “circle” or “vortex”. Chakras are energy centers or energy openings residing in our body that control the flow and distribution of energy. It is said that an imbalance in one of the chakras may result to problems in an individual’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Chakra meditation is helpful in that it focuses on maintaining and restoring balance to these energy centers inside the body. In this type of meditation, individuals are introduced to the importance of interconnections of the chakras and the roles each one play in maintaining our health.

How to Open Your Chakras

Chakra opening meditation allows the continuous flow of energy in and out of the body through the portals located on the different parts of the body that keeps balance to your health and well being.

Chakra Meditation Music

What makes chakra meditation music an effective aid in the meditation is the use of binaural beats, which specifically target the seven chakras, thereby stimulating an easy and quick response.

Our body is believed to have seven chakras, each corresponding to a specific color, area in the body, and function.

These chakras are evenly distributed inside our body and have their own functions and roles in obtaining optimal health. The seven chakras are:

1. Root Chakra.
2. Naval Chakra.
3. Solar Plexus Chakra.
4. Heart Chakra.
5. Throat Chakra.
6. Brow Chakra.
7. Crown Chakra.

When one of these chakras is threatened or out of balance, an individual’s well-being suffers. These chakras are interconnected and a disruption in the flow could lead to serious physical, mental, and emotional problems in an individual. Some of the physical issues that can manifest if one of the chakras is out of balance include fatigue, heart circulation problems, ear/nose/throat problems, sleep disorders, sexual dysfunction, stress-related conditions, and migraine. Emotional issues can also arise when the balance of chakras are compromised, which include unstable emotions, insecurity, anger, lack of motivation, and feelings of depression.
In performing chakra meditation, individuals should bear in mind that to be able to do it right and proper, a help from an expert chakra meditation teacher is essential. This is especially true for beginners. If unsupervised, a first time practitioner of chakra meditation could encounter problems during the meditation such as releasing energy too fast, being unable to fully unblock a chakra, or being unable to evenly distribute the energy flow. Thus supervision is needed until such time that the individual can already master control over it. At first, some people may not find practice of chakra meditation easy to learn but with proper guidance, determination, and patience, everything about the meditation will be eventually learned. The key is learning the chakra meditation in a steady pace to be able to grasp it fully.

As with everything in life, harmony and balance in all things are important. An imbalance even in one aspect could jeopardize the other aspects, which could in turn lead to several problems. Thus it is important for us to have our chakras balanced, interconnected, and free-flowing and chakra meditation can greatly help in making these possible.
